MIRI: This year’s Ramadan bazaar will not be held in Miri for fear of the threat posed by Covid-19.

Miri City Council (MCC) said this decision was taken after assessing the current Covid-19 pandemic situation in the district in particular and the state in general. Miri district which is a red zone, has recorded double-digit positive cases over the past several days with 45 cases last Tuesday.

The city council, in a statement today, seeks the co-operation from members of the public to continue to adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) laid down by the authorities in order to prevent the spread of Covid 19.
