MARUDI: The   Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB) has finished installing new water pipes at Kampung Pemindahan under the Northern Region 2 (NR 2) programme, said Local Government and Housing Assistant Minister Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil on Sunday.

He told that by next week, installation of new water pipes at Kampung Sungai Pasir would also be completed.

“Once the projects are completed, the water issues in the areas will be resolved,” he pointed out.

“However, the replacement of the old pipes in Marudi Town will be done under the 12th Malaysia Plan,” said Penguang.

He said this after visiting the water pipes upgrading works at Kampung Sungai Pasir on Sunday.

During his visit to the village, Penguang took the opportunity to meet and greet the villagers there.

“Most of them are happy they now have access to treated water supply,” he said.
