KUCHING: Visitors who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, except for those arriving from overseas, will no longer need to spend 14-days in quarantine at designated facilities from today (Sept 16).
The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) announced yesterday that it had decided to lift the quarantine order for entry into Sarawak after assessing the Covid-19 situation in the state and country while considering the increase in percentage of the population who have completed their vaccination.
SDMC said people are considered to be fully vaccinated 14 days after completion of their second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines, and 28 days for the single-dose Cansino and Jansen vaccines.
However, travellers or returnees entering the state will still have to produce negative rt-PCR test result with three days validity.
In addition, they will also have to apply to enter the state via the EnterSarawak mobile app or website, fill in the eHealth declaration form, attach proof of their completed vaccination as well as other personal details.
SDMC said for children and teens under the age of 18 entering together with their parents or guardian who have been fully vaccinated, they will be advised to serve home quarantine for 10 days.
For those who have not been vaccinated or partially vaccinated, they will be required to serve 10-day quarantine at designated facilities. They will also be required to produce negative rt-PCR test results with three days validity, apply for entry via the EnterSarawak mobile app or website, fill in the eHealth declaration form and other personal details.
For individuals flying in from oversea destinations either directly or via transit, a 14-day quarantine order in designated facilities will still apply.
