KUCHING: Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom was on Tuesday tight-lipped over a recent survey on the performance of Dayak Ministers and Deputy Ministers.

“I think I have no comment on that,” he said, pointing out however that everyone has their own opinion and data regarding the issue.

“Maybe Professor Dr Jayum Jawan, who is the academician at Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM) has his own reason for doing so,” he said.

He was speaking to reporters after a press conference on his working visit to Indonesia over migrant workers here.

Recently, Jayum, who is a Fellow and member of the National Unity Advisory Council (MPPN), recently released the results of an online survey on Dayak leaders in the federal Madani and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) governments.

The survey, which evaluated the performance of 18 Sarawak Dayak ministers and deputy ministers, revealed that only three received ‘passing’ approval ratings of 50 per cent or higher, while the rest were rated poorly.

Among deputy ministers, Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu and Deputy Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil scored the highest at 46 per cent, while Infrastructure and Port Development Deputy Minister Datuk Majang Renggi and Deputy Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Datuk Martin Ben received the lowest at 36 per cent.
