BINTULU: Team Warmonger Miri made their mark at the PS Muaythai Challenge in Bintulu, held last weekend (Apr 11-12) securing a string of impressive wins as the gym’s young talents showcased tremendous potential.

Among the standout performers was 14-year-old Ronnel Kulleh Laing, who secured a win by TKO against Yusuf Ali.

Ethan Pasang also impressed with a knockout victory over Hector Aaron, while Romero Agan, 20, claimed a win by decision against Muhammad Naufal. Danny Huang, 19, continued the winning streak with a second-round KO over Mohamad Nazrul Aiman.

Team Warmonger’s only two losses came via split decision, as 15-year-old Ethan Tsen Yun Kiong narrowly lost to Brian Isaac, and Colin Felix Usang Balan, also 15, fell short against Awang Yazid Abid.

Meanwhile, Koo Jin Fuh, 29, emerged victorious by TKO in the semi-pro category and took home the prestigious Piala title.

Coach Gavin Mattu expressed pride in his fighters, describing them as the next generation of talent.

“I’m super happy with the team. All gave a great effort with one Piala, four golds, and two silvers.

“The goal is to continue building up local talent,” he told Sarawak Tribune when contacted recently.
