SELANGAU: The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) aims to intensify effective fire safety with the newly launched fire station here.
Bomba director-general Datuk Seri Mohammad Hamdan Wahid said the department’s focus for 2023 was to continue its effort in ensuring fire safety.
“In line with the department’s mission to ensure every member of society is safe and taken care of, this can be done through the whole-of-nation and society approach.”
He said this after launching the Selangau fire station on Monday (Jan 30).
Hamdan also revealed that the Selangau fire station would be the 38th fire station in Sarawak.
Also present was Sarawak Bomba director Datuk Khirudin Drahman, who explained that response time to fire and emergencies would be improved.

“The Selangau fire station is the right strategy to move forward and improve action response time.”
