MUKAH: A new mural was created at quite an unfamiliar place here and thanks to four local artists for their effort in producing the impressive artworks.
It measures about 2 metres high and 30 metres long, and located at one side of the retaining wall of Jalan Mukah-Balingian.
Led by Benedict Peter, the artists painted the mural on one side the concrete retaining wall of Jalan Mukah-Balingian, which is also near Jalan Tellian junction.
Benedict, in his forties, said it took them three days to complete the mural, and the fund was provided by Tellian State constituency Service Centre.
“The mural is meant to adorn the ceremony site for the launch of Tellian floating market on Jan 2 next year,” he told New Sarawak Tribune today.
The mural is seen as a new attraction here, particularly in Kampung Seri Tellian (Tellian Tengah).
The launching ceremony will be held at Sungai Tellian riverfront, and Tellian assemblyman Yussibnosh Balo is expected to officiate at the event.
