SIMUNJAN: Residents of Kampung Tanjung Harapan will soon enjoy two new facilities — a futsal court and a new mosque — both aimed at improving local infrastructure and enhancing community wellbeing.
According to Batang Sadong MP Rodiyah Sapiee, a grant amounting to RM500,000 has been approved under her constituency’s Rural Transformation Project (RTP) for the futsal court.
As for the new mosque in Kampung Tanjung Harapan, she said it is currently in the final stages of approval by the Land and Survey Department before construction can begin.
“The futsal court project is designed to provide a safe and suitable space for residents, particularly young people, to engage in sports and recreational activities.
“Facilities like this are essential to ensure young people have a positive space to gather, while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle,” she said in her speech at the Women’s Wing Sports Day Programme of the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Tanjung Harapan branch on Saturday (Jan 25).
Meanwhile, Simunjan assemblyman Awla Dris highlighted the importance of the sports day programme as a platform for strengthening ties between party members and the local community.
“As well as encouraging healthy lifestyles, programmes like this allow us to interact more closely with residents and foster greater community unity,” he said.
Awla also suggested that each zone in the Simunjan constituency host sports events at the zonal level.
“Organising events at the zonal level will allow more residents to participate and benefit from such programmes.
“It not only brings us closer to the community but also helps build a sense of cooperation and solidarity in every area,” he added.
