TATAU: New Tatau District Officer, Calvin Ligong Bujang@Endawie, expressed his commitment to ensuring smooth and accurate implementation of development projects in the district.
In his speech during the acceptance and handover ceremony at the Tatau District Office, he stressed that the success of development requires close cooperation between all parties, including elected representatives, government agencies, the private sector as well as community and tribal leaders (KMKK).
“Every development project, especially those involving infrastructure and socioeconomics, will be closely monitored. We will ensure that projects under the Central Rajang Regional Development Agency (MiRRDA), the Bintulu Rural Development Committee (BIRDCOM) and the 13th Malaysia Plan are implemented carefully.”
Ligong also stressed the importance of consensus in ensuring that development results benefit the entire community in Tatau.
“I believe that with the cooperation of all parties, we can realise sustainable and comprehensive development in Tatau District.”
Ligong, who officially took office on Jan 2, becomes the 14th Tatau District Officer since the establishment of the Tatau District Administration in 1987.
He replaces Jabang Juntan, who is currently working at the Bukit Mabong District Office.
Tatau District, located in Bintulu Division, covers an area of 4,945.85 square kilometers and is under the administration of 282 Tribal Chiefs and Village Heads (KMKK). Tatau Town, the administrative centre of the district, is located about 60 km from Bintulu Town.
