KUCHING: The Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, received a courtesy visit from the newly appointed High Commissioner of Canada to Malaysia, Jodi Robinson, at Astana Negeri here today.
The primary objective of this visit was for Robinson to introduce herself as the new High Commissioner and to further strengthen the diplomatic ties between Canada and Sarawak.
The meeting also highlighted the long-standing historical relationship between Canada and Sarawak, and the potential for future collaboration in various fields between the two nations.
The 45-minute discussion was also attended by Sarawak Regional Office Director, Fenny Nuli, Senior Trade Commissioner, Eric Pelletier, and Trade Commissioner, Yamunah Kandasamy.
In his remarks, the Sarawak Governor expressed his hope that the relationship between Sarawak and Canada would continue to strengthen and bring mutual benefits in the future.
