TEBEDU: A total of 211 Native Customary Rights (NCR) land lots, covering an area of 17.27 hectares in Kampung Bunan Punok will be surveyed by the Land and Survey Department (LSD) starting June 5.
Kedup assemblyman Datuk Martin Ben urged the residents affected by the survey to cooperate fully with the field officers in ensuring the surveying process goes smoothly.
He said the measurement of NCR land was crucial in granting absolute ownership rights to the landowners and facilitating the government in providing more public amenities in the future.
He said this during a dialogue session held by LSD Serian division on Friday.
The dialogue session was aimed at informing residents that their applications for the measurement of their residential lots under Section 18 of the Sarawak Land Code have been approved and would be fully funded by the government through LSD.
Among those present at the dialogue session were deputy president of the Dayak Bidayuh National Association (DBNA) and chairman of the DBNA NCR Land Documentation Project Committee Dr Charlie Ungang.
