SARATOK: It is wrong to think that Muslim children sent to Chinese schools are not good at studying the Quran.

Kalaka assemblyman Mohammad Duri said this is because, like in other schools, Muslim children in Chinese schools are also taught Islamic Education subjects and follow Fardhu Ain Al-Quran Classes (KAFA).

“If I look at my place (Kalaka), there is no problem sending children anywhere.

“There are even Chinese schools outside the town that have more Muslim students and they have the ability to read the Quran well.

“Every year I attend the graduation ceremony at the Chinese school here,” he said while officiating at the 2024/2025 Saratok District Chinese National Type School (SJKC) Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony here, yesterday.

He said he was proud of the ability of Muslim students at SJKC to read the Quran well.

“I congratulate the 26 grade six students from SJKC Min Syn Saratok, SJKC Chung Hua Roban and SJKC Chung Hua Kabong who followed the khatam al-Quran.

“This achievement is the result of the support and education of teachers and parents who never tire of giving attention and encouragement.

“Along with this achievement, I suggest that every knowledge learned from the Quran can be put into practice in real life, making it a meaningful life guide,” he said.

Mohamad called for events like this to be continued by all to encourage children to master the Quran from primary school.
