KUCHING: Pre-teen singer Taylor Louise is set to represent Sarawak in the international arena at the upcoming 27th World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) in Long Beach, California USA.
The annual competition which starts on June 28 – July 7, will see professional panel of judges from Hollywood.
WCOPA is an official international competition for seasoned and up-and-coming performers and entertainers.
In sharing her feelings, the 10-year-old expressed excitement about having to represent her hometown and her country.
“At the same time, I am nervous, but I will try my best,” she said.
Competing under a category for eight to 10 years old, Taylor will be singing five songs in five different genres namely Pop, World, Broadway, R&B and Soul.
Over the years, Taylor has won numerous singing competitions including Kids Got Talent under the title Next Most Potential Vocal Artist.
The win has provided Taylor with an opportunity to audition for ‘America’s Got Talent’ season 20 on August 20 this year.
She has also won silver in an online classical singing competition ‘Voices in Bloom’ under Western Folk Song/Art Song (nine to 12 years old).
With her specialty in broadway and pop genre, Taylor hopes that one day she can make Sarawak proud of her.
