MUKAH: Grants totalling RM587,000 from the Prime Minister’s Special Allocation Phase 2 2024 were distributed to deserving people in the Mukah parliamentary constituency.

Its MP Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib handed over the allocation to 49 representatives consisting of the Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs) of longhouses in the constituency, the Parents and Teachers Associations (PIBGs) and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) during a ceremony held here yesterday (June 23).

The special allocation is given to fund repair works, infrastructure upgrades, community welfare programmes, among others.

“It is my hope that the grant given today will be used to improve the socioeconomics of the local community here,” Hanifah said.
