Mt Buda to be made tourism attraction

LIMBANG: Gunung Buda or Mount Buda at Hulu Limbang that is part of the Mulu range will be developed as a tourism product and attraction in this Division.

In line with this, the tourism development consultant for Mt. Buda had been told to plan strategically the tourism development of the said mountain.

Batu Danau Assemblyman Paulus Palu Gumbang pointed this out when speaking to reporters during a Hari Raya Korban celebration at

Kampung Anak Bukit recently.

He also wanted the tourism plan for Mount Buda National Park to be attractive but different from the concept employed at Gunung Mulu.

“Our efforts to enhance tourism activities in Limbang will materialise when Mount Buda opens up for the public and could become attraction for nature lovers who wish to see lush greenery and beautiful natural landscape suitable for extreme sports activities.

Paulus also pointed out that Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Abang Openg has made allocation to build road connectivity to the national park.

Meanwhile, during the event, Paulus contributed a buffalo to the surau committee of Kampung Anak Bukit and four other buffaloes were also contributed by him to Kampung Medait,  Kampung Belading, Kampung Palas and Kampung Kuala Awang.

Also present were Special Officer to Batu Danau Assemblyman Jimmy Ngindang, Pemanca Nicholas Buyok Pura,  Ketua Kampung Anak Bukit, Mahat Matali and Chairman of Surau Management Committee of Surau Setia Bakti Anak Bukit, Sepawi Amit.
