KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian youngster, Ryan Fernandez put up a commendable performance by completing in joint 19th out of 104 participants in the 2019 Adidas Intercollegiate Golf Tournament which concluded in Virginia, United States on Sunday (Monday in Malaysia).

The 19-year-old, who is currently pursuing his studies at Randolph Macon College, shot one-over-par 73 in the third and final round of the tournament which took place at the famous Dataw Island Club-Cotton Dike Course, according to his college website;www.www.rmcathletics.com.

Ryan’s three-days total score of nine-over-par 225 saw Randolph-Macon men’s golf team moving up one spot to finish in 13th position with a total score of 983 in the annual tournament. – Bernama

Ryan who is the son of Karyawan president, Datuk Freddie Fernandez, had one birdie and 15 pars for the lowest round of the tournament for the Yellow Jackets.

His four other teammates failed to shine, with Trey Razzetti in joint 41st -233, Alex Nelson (joint 46th-235), Chase Childers (joint 74th-247) and Christian Fagan in the 96th place with a total score of 260.

Ryan and his fellow teammates’ upcoming assignments include the Marlin Invitational which takes place at the Beechwood Country Club in Ahoskie, North Carolina. – Bernama
