SIBU: The Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS) Sibu Branch has brought festive cheer by decorating its office with vibrant red ornaments to welcome the upcoming Chinese New Year, which falls on January 29.
Its office now glows with red, symbolising joy and blessings, creating a lively and festive atmosphere for all.
According to its Chairman, Penghulu Chua Hiong Kee, the decorations reflect the organisation’s commitment to celebrating Malaysia’s cultural diversity.
“Every year, we decorate our office for major celebrations like Chinese New Year, Hari Raya, Gawai Dayak, and Christmas to show appreciation and unity with our multicultural community,” he said in a statement yesterday (Jan 24).
He also thanked the staff and volunteers who made the effort possible.
“We hope this Chinese New Year brings new hope and energy, inspiring us to continue serving the Sibu community better in the year ahead,” he added.
