SARIKEI: Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment and Sarikei MP Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii distributed school supplies to 1,100 students at SMK St Anthony here.
Each student received two sets of uniforms and a pair of shoes.
Huang took the opportunity to advise the students to respect teachers, obey parents and value their time at school.
“Good behaviour and discipline are key.
“Drawing from my own experience, I can tell you that I grew up in a very poor household, and my childhood was challenging. You, on the other hand, are fortunate to have access to education. Make the most of your school years,” he said when officiating at the School Uniform Assistance Ceremony at the school recently.
The Repok assemblyman said the contribution would ease the financial burden on parents.
“Everyone has the potential for success.
“Be grateful for the dedication of your school and teachers, who work tirelessly to nurture your education,” he added.
