KUCHING: The Dayak Bidayuh National Association (DBNA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Asia Pacific Investment Trade Economic Zone (Asiapez) Association for entrepreneur digital transformation among the Bidayuh community on Wednesday (Dec 21).
Its chairman Datuk Ik Pahon Joyik said under the MoU, DBNA will act as a platform to help enhance the socio-economic status of the Bidayuh community through collaborations with the government agencies or any relevant parties as one of the ways to move forward.
“DBNA is a platform for us to share how digitalisation can be used to enhance or improve one’s businesses.
“Sarawak is fortunate to be under the leadership of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, who always stressed the usage of digital technology in our way of life.
“Therefore, our role in DBNA is to facilitate what is beneficial to the community,” he said in his speech ahead of the Entrepreneur Digital Transformation MoU signing ceremony between both parties held at DBNA Hall here.
Meanwhile, Asiapez Association vice president Datuk Seri Eric Lee said the MoU will bring digital transformation to the communities and Sarawak as a whole in accordance to what DBNA has always been advocating, which is for the advancement and betterment of the community.
“Asiapez and DBNA believe that the signing of the MoU is a good start for both associations to promote digitalisation transformation,” said Lee.
Meanwhile, Asiapez in a statement said the
the association is a platform for international business exchanges, where businessmen and entrepreneurs can gather and community, at the same time, recruiting members.
Asiapez also welcomes small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to join the platform to become members as it is their mission to assist its members in all aspects, to actively and continuously create and expand their business territory.
“With this huge force and strength backing, the struggles and burdens of many businessmen, enterprises, and entrepreneurs, who in the past have been struggling to survive all alone in the wind and rain, can be lightened; empowering them to face and overcome various severe tests, such as the financial crisis during the current pandemic.
“The Asiapez Association is also a useful platform for experienced businessmen, companies, and entrepreneurs as a platform for exchanges and sharing. With such a large network, they can build and establish their performance rapidly, which will not only assist them to ride over the economic crisis but also allow them to re-establish business confidence,” it said.
Signing on behalf of DBNA was Ik Pahon while Lee represented Asiapez.
Also present were the president of Asiapez Association Dr Mazlan Ahmad, vice president of DBNA Joseph Jindy, QMIS Richwood Blacktech Flash Chew and others.
