Sibu police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili said they received a report about the incident at Jalan Kampung Nyabor parking lot at around 11.10am.

“The crime involved two suspects on a motorcycle, where one broke the driver’s side window and took the victim’s briefcase before fleeing with his accomplice, who waited by the roadside.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the woman had been followed from the bank after withdrawing cash in large sum.

“When she parked her vehicle, the suspect shattered the driver’s window and took the briefcase containing RM301,231 from the front seat,” he said in a statement.

Efforts are underway to locate the suspects, aided by dashcam footage from the victim’s vehicle.

In light of this, Zulkipli urged the public to exercise caution when handling large sums at banks and avoid leaving valuables in visible places to prevent similar incidents.
