KUCHING: The Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry (MOTAC) has announced the suspension of Hejira Travel and Tours Holding Sdn Bhd’s operating licence, effective 28 February 2025 until 31 August 2025.

The decision was made in accordance with Section 8 of the Tourism Industry Act 1992 [Act 482].

In a statement issued by MOTAC, the ministry emphasised its commitment to upholding industry regulations and protecting the welfare of Malaysian travellers.

The company, registered under licence number MOTAC L/N/10723, is prohibited from conducting new business transactions, including the advertisement and sale of travel packages, during the suspension period.

“Throughout the suspension, the company must fulfil all previously booked and paid-for trips.

“Additionally, it is required to promptly refund any payment and return all documents belonging to umrah pilgrims who opt to cancel their bookings,” the statement read.

“We take any breach of the law seriously in order to safeguard the interests of Malaysian travellers,” the ministry stated.
