BEKENU: Bekenu Community Hall vaccination centre (PPV) chief Dr Monica says the Bekenu PPV and  Sepupok Niah PPV will increase the vaccine doses to 1,000 per day.

She added that with two more PPVs opening, making it five in Subis, the doses would increase to 2,600 per day.

Meanwhile, vaccine recipients at the Bekenu Community Hall vaccination centre (PPV) were delighted to receive their jabs.

The Miri Information Department (JaPen) reported that the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) at the community hall started on June 11 and was smooth.

The immunisation programme for the second phase would use the Sinovac vaccine and would be given to high risk individuals, the elderly, village folk and  longhouse communities.

“There are three locations that have been turned into PPVs in Subis District – the Sepupok Niah Hall and Bekenu Community Hall with the capacity of 800 people per day at each location.

“The Ladang 3 Clinic has a capacity of 150 people per day,” Miri JaPen said on Thursday (June 17).
