MMEA enforcement officer laid to rest in hometown

BINTULU: The body of Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) enforcement officer Kavin Raj Multy arrived at his father’s residence in Sungai Petani, Kedah on Monday (June 29). Kavin died in a road accident in Bintulu on Friday.

Bintulu Maritime Zone acting director Maritime Commander Effendy Mohamed Fadil said the body was brought home using the Mas Cargo service from Miri Airport at 2.50pm. It arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 6.30pm last Sunday (June 28).

He said before that, Maritime Bintulu Zone officers and members paid tribute to Kavin. 

“The body arrived at his father’s residence around 1am, escorted by the casket team,” he said in a statement.

The burial flag is given to Kavin’s father Multy as a keepsake.

Effendy said that there was an air of melancholy at the residence as the body was carried into the house. All the family members including Kavin’s father Multy Maraiappan, 51, could not hold back their tears.

Effendy added that Kavin’s death was a great loss to the agency as he was a dedicated and disciplined member throughout his career.

Representing the Maritime Malaysia, especially the Bintulu Maritime Zone, Effendy expressed his condolence to Kavin’s family  

The public, who witnessed the fatal incident involving Kavin are urged to assist police in conducting further investigations into the accident.
