LUNDU: A special needs man who went missing for 10 days in the jungles near Gunung Bajo here was found safe today (Oct 15).

The State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre said they were informed that 21-year-old Illias IIIyasa Bujang was found safe after he was spotted by a villager around 7.50am.

“The station stated that Illias was found at 8.14am by a villager named Mat Noh Tapa who was on his way to his farm at around 7.50am this morning.

“Illias was found about 631 metres from his home. Medical officials were called to check up on him and he did not sustain any injuries,” it said today.

Illias was reported missing on Oct 5 in the jungles of Gunung Bajo.

A search and rescue (SAR) operation was soon commenced comprising Bomba personnel together with other emergency services agencies as well as local villagers.
