MIRI: The TopSpeed Swim Team from Miri will send 43 athletes to the 31st Brunei Age Group Swimming Championships from June 29 to 30, setting a record for the club’s highest number of participants in an overseas competition.

The squad includes 15 new athletes, aiming to provide valuable competition experience for the young swimmers.

The competition is expected to attract around 300 swimmers from four overseas clubs and 10 local clubs.

Club advisor and coach David Chung said they are well-prepared for the Brunei competition and look forward to the athletes showcasing their skills and gaining valuable experience in the competition.

Additionally, he said that last year, the TopSpeed Swim Team won 97 medals in total — 45 gold, 27 silver, and 25 bronz — securing second place overall, just behind the Mabohai Swimming Club from Brunei.
