KUCHING: The Miri Port Authority (MPA) has once again claimed the prestigious Premier of Sarawak Environmental Award (PSEA), winning the 11th PSEA 2023/2024 under the Government Sector Category.

The accolade was presented during an esteemed ceremony at a renowned hotel here.

This marks MPA’s second consecutive victory, having also been named champion in the 10th PSEA Awards for 2021/2022.

Accepting the award on behalf of MPA were general manager, Serawa Budol, and assistant general manager of Corporate, Planning and Technical Department, Chin Hui Seng.

The duo received a trophy, a certificate, and a mock cheque for RM10,000 from the Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

The award highlights MPA’s steadfast commitment to environmental sustainability. The authority has consistently integrated environmentally responsible practices into its daily operations, aligning with the Sarawak government’s sustainability goals and aspirations.

In addition to offering reliable and cost-effective services, MPA prioritises its social responsibility by maintaining a clean and safe marine environment. This achievement further strengthens the organisation’s position as it embarks on its transformation into a deep-sea port by 2030 and beyond, with environmental considerations at the forefront of its developmental agenda.
