MIRI: Various programmes and tournaments are on the 2023 radar of Miri Division Football Association (MDFA).

In addition to the Miri League 2023, MDFA are also looking to put more focus on organising the Under-12, -15 and -17 futsal clinics aimed at improving five-a-side football in the division.

MDFA president Nazri Ahmad Lai said the programme would be held in Bekenu during the school holidays.

“The clinic is made possible through the hard work of coaches from Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC).

“Our initial plan is to implement the clinic for six sessions,” said Nazri.

The clinic is organised by MDFA in collaboration with the Sibuti Service Centre and Co-Curriculum Unit of the Subis District Education Department, Miri.

Meanwhile, regarding the Miri League 2023, Nazri said MDFA had yet to set the dates.

“So far the matter is still under discussion. A meeting with the exco will be held after the 2023-2025 Football Association of Sarawak Congress, which takes place on Jan 28.”

“Perhaps after that, we will be able to set a date (for the Miri League),” Nazri added.
