KUCHING: The Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Ministry is ready to assist the targeted group with the application of Sumbangan Keperluan Asas Sarawak (SKAS).

The targeted group includes individuals who do not have the SPay Global application installed on their mobile devices and those who are unable to apply for SKAS through the application.

Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said the targeted groups consists of senior citizen, single mothers, people with disabilities (OKU), the impoverished group, and the homeless.

“We are currently waiting for the solution from Social Welfare Department director (JKMS) Semawi Mohammad who is in consultation with the Economic Planning Unit (EPU).

“I have already reminded him that he must not forget the targeted groups, because they are under JKMS,” she said.

She said this in a press conference after visiting the Sweet Food Convenience Store, which is the ministry’s latest strategic partner for Kenyalang Gold Card (KGC) at Kuching International Airport (KIA ) here today.

At the same time, Fatimah urged the people to have confidence in the state government in working on providing the SKAS.

“We must remember that the initiative, announced by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, has been approved during last year’s Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting.

“The allocation has been approved and we will implement it. It is just the implementation method that we need to look into.

“And this matter needs to be done as soon as possible, so for now we have to wait what kind of solution will be presented by Semawi after his meeting with EPU,” she said.
