MARUDI: The Ministry of Rural and Regional Development aims to improve lives in rural areas and make them more prosperous.

Its deputy minister Datuk Rubiah Wang said the ministry is working to improve its plans and programmes.

These plans cover many things like building roads and bridges, helping businesses grow, teaching people how to start their own businesses, and making sure everyone has the chance to learn new things.

“We want people in rural areas to take advantage of these opportunities. They should be aware of the programs the government offers and take part in them,” Rubiah said at the closing ceremony of the Jom Masuk Kampung programme in Kampung Pemindahan, yesterday.

Rubiah also spoke about young people learning skills like fixing things or working in trades through technical and vocational education and training (TVET).

“If young people have these skills, they can find good jobs and match what industries need,” she said.
