PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) is committed to celebrating cultural diversity and emphasising the importance of fostering national unity through inclusivity.

This was evident as KPKT once again embraced the spirit of harmony and togetherness by adorning its lobby with vibrant Chinese New Year decorations ahead of the festive celebrations next week.

Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming, in a statement today, highlighted that such celebrations play a vital role in strengthening unity among Malaysians and fostering goodwill in Malaysia’s multicultural society.

“At KPKT, we take pride in celebrating major festivals like Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Deepavali, Christmas, and Chinese New Year. We hope that festivities like these can enhance inter-ethnic relationships and further solidify harmony within our plural society,” he said.

Underscoring that unity in diversity and harmonious coexistence are the twin pillars of Malaysia’s success, Nga noted that the country is now recognised as one of the ten most peaceful nations in the world.

“Therefore, it is crucial for all Malaysians to stand firmly with the MADANI government to continue developing the nation’s economy,” he said.

Nga also extended an invitation to everyone to join the KPKT Chinese New Year Open House at his ministry, scheduled for Feb 6, starting at 12.30 pm.— BERNAMA
