MUKAH: Road safety should be the ultimate concern of all, not just during festive season when road users are busy travelling to their destinations.
Deputy Minister of Economy cum Mukah MP Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib advised motorists not to drive if they are tired as it could endanger other road users.
“During this festive season, for those returning to their hometowns, make sure to drive in good health.
“In addition, ensure that the vehicle is checked and in a safe condition for use, and also fill up enough fuel for the journey,” she said.
She said this when met by the media after completing the Road Safety Campaign in conjunction with the Gawai festive season at the Mukah District level, at the Old Market here, today.
She stressed on the importance of being focused and be vigilant while driving on the road.
Hanifah also took the opportunity to wish everyone celebrating the festival a Happy Gawai Dayak.
Meanwhile, state assemblyman (ADUN) for Balingian, Abdul Yakub Arbi also advised the public to always be cautious on the road and avoid unwanted incidents.
For the people of Balingian area, he also wished everyone a Happy Gawai Dayak.
At the event, a total of 100 goodie bags were presented to road users who coincidently pass through the Old Market area.
