KUCHING: Malaysian singer Mimifly has once again captured the hearts of fans, this time not just with her voice, but with her fashion choice.
In a recent collaboration with AirAsia, Mimifly, whose real name is Shamimi Amalina Norhisham, performed her latest Raya song, ‘Serumpun’, while dancing alongside the AirAsia Fun Crew.
However, what truly stole the spotlight was her stunning red dress, beautifully adorned with a ‘pua kumbu’ design, a traditional Iban textile from Sarawak.
Fans quickly took to social media to express their pride and appreciation for the cultural representation.
A YouTube user, shahmizansajali3076, commented as a Sarawakian that he felt so proud to see her wearing a dress with a ‘pua kumbu’ design.

Another fan, faizinzainudin8462, echoed the sentiment, praising how elegantly ‘pua kumbu’ was incorporated into Mimifly’s look.
The excitement did not stop there as a TikTok video of the collaboration uploaded by Mimifly herself sparked even more admiration.
TikTok user ElwenOgosOfficial expressed gratitude to Mimifly for representing the Iban culture.
“She is coming for those high-end collabs! Also the ‘pua kumbu’ dress just chef-kissed!” said another TikTok user Saong.
Since being uploaded just two days ago, the impact of Mimifly’s performance is undeniable as the full video on AirAsia’s YouTube channel has already racked up 98,000 views and 3,700 likes.
Meanwhile, the TikTok video has taken the Internet by storm, amassing a whopping 984,400 views, 92,500 likes and 4,325 shares.
