KUCHING: The Meditel Ramadan Bazaar 2024, which offers various choices of food and beverages, has attracted more people in its third edition.
Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) deputy director Wan Samsulri Wan Hasbi has credited better arrangement of stalls, which has benefitted visitors and food lovers alike.
“This year’s bazaar Ramadan has been livelier compared to previous years and this may be because of the arrangement (of stalls) which has been better managed.
“We hope the food sellers find it convenient and comfortable during this Ramadan Bazaar,” he told the media after officiating the Meditel Ramadan Bazaar at Ceria Street Meditel, in SGH today (March 14).
He said the bazaar is organised in collaboration with the Sarawak Health Department Islamic Welfare Association (PERKIP) and Serapi Meditel.
He added that the bazaar could accommodate around 200 visitors at a time.
He also invited the public to visit the bazaar, which has around 37 stalls.
In a related development, Wan Samsulri said health officers are monitoring the situation at the bazaar to ensure hygiene and has urged food sellers to adhere to the health guidelines.
“We will be monitoring and supervising the bazaar from time to time, therefore the food sellers must comply with guidelines set by the Ministry of Health.”
Separately, Wan Samsulri also commented on whether wearing a face mask is required when going to the bazaar, to which he advised visitors to continue wearing face masks in crowded places.
For the record, Petros LPS Gastech Engineering Sdn Bhd has sponsored aprons to all the food sellers at the bazaar.
