SIBU: The swearing-in ceremony of the Dalat and Mukah District Council (MDDM) members took place on Friday, marking the beginning of a new term of local administration in the Dalat and Mukah areas.

The event also saw the re-election of several other councillors who would work together to strengthen the service delivery system to the people under MDDM.

Among those re-elected is Nyireng Saleh, who expressed appreciation for the trust he was given to continue serving the community.

“I am very pleased and grateful to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg for the trust given to me to continue serving as a MDDM councillor,” he said in a statement on Saturday.

Nyireng also expressed his gratitude to the Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) and the Central PRS Youth Wing led by Datuk Snowdan Lawan as the PRS Youth Chief, for his strong support throughout Nyireng’s service.

He also thanked Tamin assemblyman, Christopher Gira Sambang, for his nomination and trust given to him.

“I am committed to carrying out this responsibility with integrity, sincerity and dedication for the benefit of the local community,” he said.

Nyireng also expressed his willingness to continue to strengthen support to the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and the PRS in an effort to drive the development of the area.
