KUCHING: In the spirit of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Mayor of Kuching South City Council, Datuk Wee Hong Seng, paid an appreciation visit to Tanah Puteh Health Clinic and Bintawa Police Station to extend festive goodwill and acknowledge the dedication of frontline personnel serving the community.
Accompanied by political secretary to the Premier, Kho Teck Wan, MBKS councillors, and community leaders, Wee distributed festive goodies to doctors, nurses, pharmacists and support staff at the clinic.
He also expressed gratitude to Kapitan Tan Teck Ming for his generous contribution towards the gifts.
“Tanah Puteh Health Clinic is one of the busiest government clinics in Kuching South, playing a vital role in public healthcare.
“We deeply appreciate the commitment of medical front-liners who continue working tirelessly, even during festive seasons,” he said.
Wee also highlighted recent improvements at the clinic, including a grant secured to upgrade the external waiting area, enhancing comfort for patients.
“With these upgrades, patients will no longer have to endure the heat or slippery floors when it rains.
“This is a positive step forward for our healthcare facilities,” he added.
MBKS will collaborate with the clinic and relevant authorities to improve traffic flow and accessibility, as well as enhance parking facilities for visitors.
The mayor later visited Bintawa Police Station to express his appreciation to the Royal Malaysia Police for their efforts in maintaining peace and security in Kuching South, especially during the festive period.
“These men and women work tirelessly to keep our city safe, often away from their families.
“It is important that we recognise and appreciate their sacrifices,” he said.
These visits reflect MBKS’ ongoing commitment to supporting public institutions and honouring the contributions of frontline workers in the city.
