KUCHING: Kuching South City Council Mayor, Datuk Wee Hong Seng, inspected ongoing repair works at Jalan Perimat today, following a burst water pipe that occurred several days ago.
The incident had created a large hole along the road, resulting in severe traffic congestion in the area.
It prompted swift action from the Kuching Water Board (KWB), which have since completed the necessary pipe repairs.
Road resurfacing works are now progressing, with premix materials currently being laid at the affected site.
During his visit, Wee stressed the importance of prompt and coordinated action to mitigate the impact of such incidents on road users.
“We are committed to resolving this issue as quickly as possible to restore road safety and minimise inconvenience to the public,” he said.
He also extended his appreciation to the Public Works Department (PWD) and CMS Roads for their rapid response and cooperation in easing traffic flow during the disruption.
MBKS urges motorists to remain vigilant and follow traffic advisories while repair works are still in progress.
