KUCHING: Deputy Chief Minister, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing  said a seminar on “Pemakal Menoa” and “Pualu Galau” (PMPG) held here recently was good as it was more inclusive because all Bumiputras (Dayaks, Malays and Melanaus) were included.

He added that it was good that the other racial groups are trying to define their ancestral communal land. The seminar on PMPG that was held recently in Kuching was the Dayak leaders’ effort to define PMPG, but ours was more inclusive. It included all Bumiputras in Sarawak
(Dayaks, Malays & Melanaus).

“Out of that seminar the Malays make the effort to define what is their PMPG. There is nothing wrong in them making the effort in defining what is their PMPG. Whether their definition is in accordance to their customs and ‘adat’ the government will be the judge. It’s now up to the Melanau and the various Dayak groups to make the
definition of their PMPG,” he added.

He pointed out that the faster the various Bumiputra groups do their works, the better and faster it is for this government to decide on this contentious issue.
