LUNDU: A local man sustained minor injuries when his car skidded off the road and plunged into a ravine near Sedain Bridge, Jalan Biawak here, early this morning (Dec 2).

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Lundu station were dispatched to the scene, about 18km away, after receiving an emergency call at 5.45 am.

Upon arrival, the team found the Perodua Viva in the ravine with its driver injured and trapped inside.

They extricated the victim using a spine board and bucket stretcher, bringing him up the 25-foot incline to the roadside.

The victim was later handed over to paramedics and transported to Lundu Hospital for further treatment.

Once the situation was deemed safe, the team ended the operation at 6.23 am.
