MIRI: A man has been detained by the police yesterday on suspicion of stealing his parents’ chainsaw.

The 25-year-old unemployed man was picked up by the police around 8.30am following a report lodged by the suspect’s own mother after discovering one of the
chainsaws missing.

Acting on the report lodged, police arrested the suspect in a house at Lambir. The suspect is currently being detained for questioning on the case.

Sources added that a probe on the suspect has led to the discovery of the stolen
chainsaw.

The case is being investigated under Section 380 of the Penal Code for house breaking.
