MIRI: A man in his 30’s from Sibuti claimed he lost his lifesavings amounting to RM1,300 to a lucky draw scam syndicate.
A police report has been lodged by the complainant on Thursday (July 2).
A total of seven transactions were made by the man after he received text messages from an unknown number saying that he had won a lucky draw worth RM12,000.
The suspects managed to persuade the victim to bank in the cash however, he eventually realised that he had fallen victim to a scam.
The case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating.
As at press time, no arrests have been made regarding the case.
