SIBURAN: A local man sustained injuries after his car veered out of control and skidded down a slope along Batu 28, Jalan Kuching-Serian today.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Siburan station were dispatched to Kampung Lintang Baru, about 13km away, after receiving a distress call at 8.07 am.
Upon arrival, they found the Perodua Myvi crashed in the slope about 15 to 20 metres from the road. The driver’s leg was trapped in his seat due to the impact of the crash.
Extrication works were carried out to free the victim from the wrecked vehicle. His identity and the extent of his injuries were not known.
The injured victim was later handed over to the paramedics and transported to Serian Hospital for further treatment.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team ended the rescue operation at 9.05 am.
