BINTANGOR: Residents were shocked to find a lifeless body in a Chinese cemetery at Jalan Kelupu, here yesterday.
Meradong OCPD DSP Sekam Anoi said the body was discovered by a resident around 10 am.
Based on police investigations at the scene, the man is believed to have been dead for about three to four hours.
“The man is from Sibu, according to the health and identity cards found on him.
“The body was taken to Sarikei Hospital for a post-mortem to identify the exact cause of death,” he said.
Sekam added that family members have been informed.
He advised the public not to speculate on the incident as the cause of death has yet to be determined.
Police have classified the cease as sudden death.
