Man dies from heart attack while driving

KOTA SAMARAHAN: A man died of a suspected heart attack while driving, causing him to crash into another car, last Thursday at KM11, Jalan Datuk Mohd Musa.

Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu explained that the accident occurred around 6.30pm when the victim was driving a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle from Bandar Riyal.

“The victim, identified as Abdul Rambli Jobeli, 49, from Kampung Lubok Punggur, Simunjan, was believed to have suffered a heart attack, lost control of his vehicle, and crashed into another vehicle that was parked by the side of the road.

“As a result, the victim was immediately rushed to the Kota Samarahan Heart Centre where he was later pronounced dead,” he said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the driver of the other car did not sustain any injuries.

Alexson stated that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
