MARUDI: A 31-year-old suspect was arrested following a tip off received from the public for possessing drug.

The suspect was arrested during a raid, led by ASP Mike Ibrahim, on a shop in Lapok Tinjar bazaar in Baram at 4.45pm.

During the raid, the suspect was questioned and after a while, he led the police team to retrieve a blue plastic bag from an oil drum in a store located at the back of the shop.

When the police opened the bag, they found in it four blue coloured paper packets and four green coloured paper packets.

Each of the paper packets contained a straw tube of cryatalline substance believed to be Syabu.

The suspect was taken to the Beluru police station and handed over to the officer-in-charge of narcotics for investigation under Section 12 (2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1952.
