SARATOK: A fatal two-vehicle accident at Kampung Melayu Roban here, claimed the life of a local man this afternoon.
The collision involving a cement lorry and a Perodua Axia is believed to have occurred around 12 noon.
Firefighters from Saratok station were swiftly deployed to the scene, about 18km away, following an emergency call.
Upon arrival, the team found the Axia severely crushed with its driver inside while, the lorry had overturned onto its side.
Extrication works were carried out using special tools to extricate the trapped Axia driver.
The victim, identified as Hazman Wahab, 36, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. His body was taken to the hospital for post-mortem procedures.
Meanwhile, the lorry driver only sustained light injuries.
