MIRI: Police have detained a man for allegedly stealing money and jewellery from his mother.
The man, 33, was arrested by a team of Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officers around 5pm, Sunday (Jan 9) during an operation dubbed ‘Ops Kesan’.
Miri OCPD ACP Hakemal Hawari said the arrest was made following a police report lodged by the suspect’s mother after she discovered that her money and jewellery were missing.
The suspect was picked up from a house in Tudan Desaras.
Among other things that were reported missing were a cooking gas cylinder and RM400.
The suspect is currently being detained at the Miri Central Police Station (CPS) for questioning.
