Malaysia’s Nov palm oil stocks up 10.45 pct

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s total palm oil stocks in November rose 10.45 per cent to 3.01 million tonnes from 2.72 million tonnes in October.

Crude palm oil (CPO) stocks increased 10.91 per cent to 1.79 million tonnes during the month from 1.61 million tonnes in the preceding month.

Stocks of processed palm oil gained by 9.79 per cent to 1.22 million tonnes from 1.11 million tonnes previously, said the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) in its “Performance of the Malaysian Palm Oil Industry for the Month of November 2018” released here yesterday.

It said CPO production, however, fell 6.09 per cent to 1.85 million tonnes in November from 1.96 million tonnes in the previous month.

Palm kernel output was also down by 6.99 per cent to 451,725 tonnes in November versus October’s production of 485,666 tonnes.

The MPOB said palm oil exports eased 12.87 per cent to 1.38 million tonnes in November from 1.58 million tonnes in October, while exports of oleochemicals declined 12.05 per cent to 246,964 tonnes from 280,806
tonnes.

Palm kernel oil exports expanded by 28.76 per cent to 99,640 tonnes from 77,385 tonnes in the preceding month, and exports of palm kernel cake fell 26.42 per cent to 166,217 tonnes from 225,901 tonnes.

In November, biodiesel exports narrowed 21.06 per cent to 44,091 tonnes against October’s 55,857 tonnes. – Bernama
