Malaysian developers shine with 11 wins at Propertyguru Asia Property Awards

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian property developers made their mark at the 19th Annual PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final at The Athenee Hotel, in Bangkok, securing 11 prestigious awards.

The winners included notable developers and projects: Bangsar Heights Pavilion for Quayside JBCC; Berinda Group for Ponderosa Callista; City Motors Group for Alfa Bangsar; Eupe Corporation Bhd for Helix2 @ PJ South; and Gunung Impian Development Sdn Bhd for Iconia Garden Residence.

Also recognised were Iskandar Investment Bhd for Medini Innopolis; JLand Group Sdn Bhd for Sanubari @ Bandar Dato Onn; Malton Bhd for The Park 2 Pavilion Bukit Jalil; Sime Darby Property Bhd for Serenia Industrial Park; Tropicana Corporation Bhd for Avisa Residences and Tropicana Alam; and Triterra Sdn Bhd for The MET Corporate Tower.

Regional highlights

In a statement, PropertyGuru noted that China secured five awards, with Zhuhai Huafa Properties Co Ltd named Best Developer in Asia, and Lead8 receiving recognition for MixC Changchun and K11 Shanghai. Other winners included Jiang & Associates Creative Design for Alibaba’s Chaoyang Science and Technology Park and Sybarite for SKP Chengdu.

Developers from Hong Kong and Macau, it said earned four titles, including China Resources Land (Overseas) Ltd and Poly Property (Hong Kong) Co Ltd for Pano Harbour, and Lofter Group Ltd for 1 Ki Lung Street.

The Philippines led with 12 awards, featuring Federal Land Inc, being recognised as Best Luxury Developer (Asia) and winning for Riverpark. Federal Land NRE Global Inc was named Best Breakthrough Developer (Asia), while Aboitiz InfraCapital Economic Estates won Best Industrial Developer (Asia), with LIMA Estate also receiving an award.

“It also included RLC Residences, which won for The Residences at The Westin Manila; Robinsons Offices for GBF Centre 1; work.able for work.able Robinsons Summit Centre; Alveo Land for Viento at Cerca, and Sunshine Fort North Bonifacio Realty Development Corporation for MITSUKOSHI BGC,” it added.

Additionally, The Estate Makati, a collaboration between SM Development Corporation and Federal Land, received two awards.

On the other hand, Indonesia won eight awards, led by Paramount Land as Best Township Developer (Asia), with Sinar Mas Land earning multiple titles for BSD City, Biomedical Campus, and its joint ventures, including Greenland International Industrial Centre (GIIC) at Kota Deltamas and Navapark.

DM Projects Group won for Salty Jim Villa; PT Adhi Commuter Properti Tbk (LRT City Cibubur); and Summarecon Group (Flora at Summarecon Bandung Singapore) continued its winning streak with eight wins.

Singapore excelled with UOL Group Ltd being named Best Sustainable Developer (Asia) and Best Hospitality Developer (Asia).

Australia received seven titles, with BLVD by OSK Property and other notable developments recognised.

Other winners

Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, Cambodia, and Saudi Arabia also claimed notable wins, showcasing their excellence in property development, PropertyGuru said.

Thailand earned four titles, with Sansiri Public Co Ltd winning BuGaan Pattanakarn and Narasiri Phahol-Watcharapol, AP (Thailand) Public Co Ltd won The City Rama5-Nakhon, and APAC Land for APAC Tower.

Vietnam claimed four titles, with Phu Long Real Estates Corporation named Best Community Developer (Asia) and Gamuda Land winning two titles for Eaton Park, while Ecopark scored a win for Ecovillage Saigon River.

“Japan’s Niseko Woodlands Ltd won for Grand Tsuru Niseko while Yoichi Dreams was recognised for Kisin,” it shared.

PropertyGuru said Saudi Arabia made its debut at the Grand Final with Oud Real-Estate Development Co winning Best Mixed-Use Developer (Asia), following a series of wins at the inaugural PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Middle East).

Cambodia’s LP Residences Co Ltd received a win for its Palm Springs project, while By the Waters by Suryam Developers LLP gained recognition for India.

PropertyGuru stated that the conclusion of the 2024 PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards series brought together over 130 award-winning finalists from across Asia, showcasing their achievements on the global stage.

Its group managing director for marketplaces, Jeremy Williams commended the winners for their achievements, which inspire innovation and progress in the region’s property sector.

“As we celebrate the 19th edition of the grand final, we look forward to a wave of progress creating what’s next for the region’s built environment,” he said.

The event was part of PropertyGuru Week, which featured the PropertyGuru Asia Real Estate Summit, the inaugural Middle East awards, and the latest editions of the awards in China, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, India, Sri Lanka, and Cambodia. – BERNAMA
