KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia are through to the semi-finals of the 2019 WSF Women’s World Junior Squash Team Championship after whipping Switzerland 3-0 in the last eight at the National Squash Centre in Bukit Jalil, here, Wednesday.
Malaysia, the second seeds, will meet the third seeds Hong Kong in the semi-finals tomorrow. Hong Kong moved into the last four after scoring a comfortable 3-0 victory over the United States in another quarter-finals tie.
In today’s action, three-time British Junior Open champion, Aifa Azman delivered the first point for Malaysia after securing a 11-4, 13-11 and 11-4 win
against Ambre Allinckx, before Chan Yiwen doubled Malaysia’s advantage after subduing Cassandra Fitze;11-3, 11-7 and 11-4.
Ainaa Ampandi confirmed the semi-final spot for Andrew Cross’ charges with a 11-1 and 11-5 win against Alina Poessl in the third match. – Bernama
