BAU: Residents of Kampung Peros here will soon have the opportunity to participate in the Komuniti MADANI X NADI Programme, scheduled to take place on Feb 22.

The National Information Dissemination Centre (NADI), initiative is designed to enhance the community’s socioeconomic development, particularly in tourism, food, and agriculture.

According to village chief Sata Najoi, the programme will be a valuable opportunity for the community to improve their IT and digital literacy, which is crucial in promoting local products and services.

He said the knowledge gained would enable them to better market the village’s tourism products, particularly its unique culture, food, clothing, musical instruments, and other attractions, to a wider audience.

Sata also highlighted that Kampung Peros is strategically located within the Sarawak Delta Geopark, which possesses a wealth of tourism assets.

Sumardi engaged in an informal discussion on current issues with the Head of Komuniti MADANI Kampung Peros and the Manager of NADI Krokong at the centre this morning.

He believes that with the right support, these assets could be further developed to boost the local economy and create more opportunities for the villagers.

These will feature talks delivered by NADI and JAPEN Bau, discussions on current issues, and the distribution of educational materials.

Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to register as NADI members and sign up for MyDigital ID, as well as benefit from health screening services.

According to Bau District Information Officer, Sumardi Sugiman, these activities will offer significant benefits to participants by keeping them informed and equipping them with the necessary tools to navigate today’s digital landscape.
